Roofing
A roof is five or six components working together. When one of them is skipped, the shingles get blamed ten years early. We install the whole system, and we show you each layer going on.
We strip the roof to the bare decking. Layering new shingles over old is faster and cheaper on paper, but it hides rotted sheathing, traps heat and voids most manufacturer warranties. Once the deck is exposed we walk it, mark anything soft and replace it. Bad sheathing is priced per sheet and agreed with you before we start, so nothing shows up on the invoice as a surprise.
Synthetic underlayment across the field, ice and water shield in the valleys, around the chimney, and at every pipe and vent penetration. Those transitions are where nearly every leak we get called out to actually starts. Flashing gets replaced, not reused.
Georgia attics run hot. Without balanced intake at the soffit and exhaust at the ridge, that heat cooks the shingles from underneath and takes years off the roof. We size the ventilation to the attic instead of just cutting a ridge vent and calling it done.
Not every roof needs replacing. If the shingles still have life and the problem is a flashing detail, a handful of blown off shingles or a dried out pipe boot, we will tell you that and repair it. We will also tell you when a repair is money spent on a roof that is already at the end of its run, because patching a twenty year old roof twice a year is the most expensive option there is.
Most residential roofs in Forsyth and Cherokee come off and go back on in a single day. Larger homes, steep pitches or complex rooflines can run into a second day. A roof is never left open overnight without being dried in first.

Roofing questions
Square footage, pitch, number of layers coming off and the condition of the decking underneath. Anyone quoting over the phone without seeing the roof is guessing. We fly it, measure it and hand you a written number.
Age, granule loss, curling or cracked shingles and how widespread the damage is. A roof with one bad valley is a repair. A roof losing granules across every slope is at the end of its service life and patching it just delays the same bill.
Yes. The shingles carry the manufacturer warranty, registered in your name, and our workmanship is warranted separately. Both are spelled out in the written scope before you sign anything.
That is the right time to do it. Gutters get worked around during a tear off anyway, and running seamless gutter right after the roof means one crew and one mobilization instead of two.
